Heart

We had the dreaded cardiology appointment today.  As any heart parent can tell you cardiology appointments are the scariest appointments because you always hope to hear that everything is find and you know there is always a chance everything is not fine.

We love our cardiologist, he is a wonderful man who has been with us these last three years supporting us the whole time.  Those who have followed our blog from the beginning know what a rough time Gabriel had with his heart surgery and how we were very close to having to have a second heart surgery during our stay at Mott's.  You have heard about our first few visits with our cardiologist he was hopeful that we just may be able to avoid another surgery.  He wanted to exhaust every option before he sent Gabriel back in for surgery.  He changed and upped Gabriel's medications hoping to get his valve to work correctly and his lung pressure under control. We were excited at our last appointment when we were able to to six months before this appointment.  Well everyone I have some exciting news!!! We dont have to have another dreaded cardiology appointment for a year and a half!!! If all goes well Gabriel will be 4 and a half before his next cardiology appointment!  Gabriel's back flow of blood through his bad valve is minimal right now.  His lung pressures are on the high normal end but still normal.

Suggestions from today's meeting.  Talk to the ENT to make sure that the T&A removal fixed Gabriel's hypoventilation because that can be very hard on the heart and may be why Gabriel's lung pressures are a bit higher than he would like.  In other words he would like another sleep study done just to make sure.  We can work with that.

I recorded video's of Gabriel walking with and without his cankle supports but they won't load on to the computer tonight.  I am too tired to care, too many appointments in too few days.

What?

  3. They get cuter with each passing day. Great Gramma sends her love, Gabriel and Isabella. She misses you.

Isabella's little best friend Meesha (our Boston Terrier) would not let great gramma out of her sight. She loves GG almost as much as Isabella. But GG doesn't leave nearly enough schnibbles on her cheeks as Isabella!
