At feeding therapy we decided to push and see what we can get Gabriel to eat. He has been telling me when he is hungry for the last couple days. He has not cared what flavor of yogurt he is eating as long at the consistency has stayed the same.
The therapist took a peach fruit cup and pureed it then added a little Simply Thick to make it the same consistency as yogurt. Gabriel ate almost the entire cup.
Deciding to push our luck the therapist busted out a can of Chef Boyardee Mac and Cheese. After a good pureeing it was ready to try. The little stinker ate a quarter cup of mac and cheese. SHOCK. No tears, no frustration on everyone's part, he ate it with a smile on his face.
This is going to be our new best friend here at the Purdy house until Gabriel is ready to eat different thicknesses and textures.
Gabriel even worked on drinking out of a straw today. He did pretty good. I am looking forward to seeing some progress as time goes on!

ReplyDeleteGood work little Buddy! He would have starved to death if you did not make a bottle and give it to him. It is HUGE that he is even saying he is hungry and HUGER that he is actually eating! Let's pray this is the beginning...gramps H
