trying to kick sickness in the backside!

Gabriel is very congested.  He coughed most of the night last which kept him up.  Today his congestion continued and his coughing turned to throwing-up time and time again.  He won't sleep with a pillow and can't sleep laying flat.  So needless to say he is quite miserable right now, for some reason no sleep does that to a person (go figure).  The doctor said it was a virus on Monday and should work its way out in 3-4 days.  So we will see how he is feeling tomorrow and decide from there.

Right now as I am typing this he is curled up in my lap catnapping between coughing fits.  The poor kid is struggling to breath though all of the snot.  His temperature was back up to 102 even with continuous medication.  Poor kiddo.  This next time when he is up coughing I am going to let him take another bath.  He had relief for a few minutes before falling into another coughing fit earlier today and it brought his temperature down to 101.2.

We did have play time with hats here at the Purdy house.  Jenee, Kaitlyn's mom from Kaitlyn's Korner is currently working on setting up an etsy account with her mom and is extremely talented.  She created hats for Gabriel and Isabella for their party but it has taken me forever to take good pictures.  The kids are normally playing around too much to get good pics.  Gabriel has a monkey hat and Isabella has an owl.  If you ask them they will each say they have two new hats and the other has none.

Isabella is ALREADY working on her snowboarding skills.

March 21st is World Down syndrome day! You can read about it here. In celebration, Gabriel wanted to help promote it! In case you can't see my writing (it's hard on a ticklish little boy so give me a break) his little feet say T21 and 3/21.

Not to be outdone Isabella wants you to all know that she LOVES her big brother and wanted to show you it by having a heart on her little feet.

  1. Thanks for the shout out!

As far as Gabriel being sick, that is exactly what my kids had but it was Influenza B, and yes it is viral but secondary bacteria infections sneak up quick with this virus. Be careful! KT was only a day and a half in and ended up at Devos with pneumonia and an ear infection...Nasty stuff. The Brock's had it too and it ended in pneumonia for both of them! Ty had it also, he didn't sleep for 6 nights, I thought it was just because of the congestion and he also had a double ear infection, poor baby, who knew?!
