The Buddy Walk® was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. Today, the Buddy Walk program is supported nationally by NDSS and organized at the local level by parent support groups, schools and other organizations and individuals.
Over the past fifteen years, the Buddy Walk program has grown from 17 walks to more than 300 expected in 2010 across the country and around the world. Last year alone, 250,000 people participated in a Buddy Walk! They raised more than $9.5 million to benefit local programs and services as well as the national advocacy initiatives that benefit all individuals with Down syndrome.
The Buddy Walk is a one-mile walk in which anyone can participate without special training. It is a wonderful, heart-warming event that celebrates the many abilities and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome.

Gabe has Gabriel at the sleep study. Gabriel is all probed up and ready to go.
Yummy, daddy's hat!
"Is this a sexy pose daddy?"
"Are you serious?"
"You think I am going to sleep in this? Not happening!"
All dressed up for Halloween and no candy
"Almost got it... I need to taste to make sure it is safe!!!"
"Okay, that was fun, i'm out of here"
"Just kidding I wasn't going anywhere, let me out of here!!!"
"If I smile will you PLEASE let me out of here?!?!"
Thanks daddy for pictures!!!

Sleep study?!?!
Gabe and I took Gabriel to his doctor appointment today. This is the doctor that we waited three months to get into. We called to try to get the ball going back in June when we found out that Gabriel had high pressure in his lungs possibly due to sleep apnea.
We finally got in today. After the doctor took a rather extensive history he did his check-up on Gabriel. He had Gabriel lay down for his whole check up. He said that Gabriel has large tonsils unlike what the paperwork said from his ENT doctor. The ENT never looked at his tonsils while he was laying down. I guess there is a big difference, who knew.
The sleep study's are back logged through December, Great! Well that was not soon enough for the doctor so he scheduled Gabriel for tonight. Yes, I did say TONIGHT! I am just back to work and can not miss. So Gabe took him for his 7:30pm check in. I am sad that I am not there with my little man. He is with his daddy so he is happy! I told Gabe to take pictures because I can not be there. He better!!!!

Painting
Painting in brown and yellow
Monday evening my children decided to work their hardest to turn their mother's hair gray! Gabe was having trouble sleeping and had come into the room several times to try to quite the kids down but they were having too much fun to be quiet. Finally I got Gabriel to bring me a book. He then crawled into my lap to read. Isabella in the mean time was playing in the pack and play in the living room.
The room filled with the smell of diaper roses and I knew Isabella had some extra special presents in her diaper. Dreading having to change a diaper that smelled bad enough we should have evacuated the house because of contamination I walked slowly to get a diaper and the wipes ready for war.
I got back to the pack 'n play only to find that my daughter was trying to give herself a spa treatment with a mud bath. She had expelled so much that the whole crib was brown along with her and her toys. In complete joy I rushed her to the bathtub for decontamination. After spraying Isabella off I went to work cleaning her sleeping area. I took the sheets down to the washer and put the toys in the sink for a bleach and water bath.
I returned to the living room to find my amazing son not wanting to be out done by his little sister. I knew I was in trouble when I saw his shorts laying by the gate. Sure enough he is standing in the middle of the living room laughing at me. I am begging in my head for him to not do it... but by the time i got to him he was painting the rug yellow as only a little boy could do.
I guess I must have scared him as I ran across the room in a dead sprint because he began to cry. Sure enough it was loud enough to wake the bear. Daddy came to the gate and gave me the look then crawled back into bed. If only he knew what was going on at that point in time.
Lesson learned when one kid decides to make the evening something to remember, the other will follow suit so they aren't outdone!
Painting the world in love
My friend Michelle has two children close to Gabriel and Isabella's age. Adri is about 4 months than Gabriel and Sam is about two months younger than Isabella. We went to the park together this week and here are the too darn cute pictures that resulted. Adri is not in them because she was off playing on the playground.
Isabella and Sam
Gabriel is Isabella and Sam's teacher, just look!
So cute!
Painting the world in sleep
BigFoot (Biggy) thinks he is one of the kids. They love him because he likes to be beat up on!
Painting the world in big girl pants
Isabella is too big for her britches! She needs to get onto the floor and roll around like a baby! She is set on growing up too fast. She completely looks ready to do some cool 80's jazzercise workouts!

Oh my Birthday Boy
Gabriel has had quite the weekend already.
January buckethead
April buckethead (Handing over the bucket)
August buckethead (Deciding he looks rather nice with his buckethead)
(you're hot, no YOU are hot!...)
Gabriel eating Birthday Banana Pudding! Yes, Gabriel is feeding himself!
Birthday with Mimi and Papa
Did it pass the taste test?
I think so!
Best book cover ever!
Grandma and Grandpa's house
Isabella is ready to eat NOW!
Aunt Brett, Her boyfriend Mike and his daughter Val. Val gives her okay on the cake!
Isabella helped herself to some cake and she gives her okay!
Will Gabriel try it?
Gabriel tried a little cake... note that it was ice cream cake and he waited for it to melt a little before he would try it but he did it!
Gabriel and Isabella would like to say Happy Belated Birthday to Cousin Ashley. Their mother forgot to let them call on her birthday!
