Getting as ready as we can

This weekend is all about getting ready. Right now we are trying to decide what we need to bring, what we want to bring and getting the house ready for when we come home. Tomorrow my side of the family is coming over to see Gabriel before his surgery. Gabe's parents will see Gabriel Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings while they babysit Gabriel.

I hope I have everything ready at work. I tried to get as much done as I could last week so that I would not have to worry as much this coming week. I know Monday-Wednesday is going to be hectic enough. I am hoping that by being prepared I will worry less (a little less at least). I know that I am overly controlling the things that I can control so that I am not as worried about the things I can not control.

Gabriel is doing well. His ear infection is cleared up. He is laughing and smiling again. In fact he has even been eating better. We have not had to put his feeding tube down in a week because he is eating all of his meals if not more. He is waking up during the night to get his feedings. It is hard but I am so excited that he is doing so well! I wonder how long he had a ear infection because he is so much better now after his 10 days of antibiotic.

I am trying to take care of myself so that I don't end up sick. Just like most people being stressed causes me to catch whatever is going around. And heaven knows that teaching 6th and 7th grade comes with germs.

Gabe is doing well. He is as crazy as ever. He is Gabriel's favorite;) I love to watch those two. They have secrets they have yet to share with me.

  1. Hang in there! This pre-surgery stuff is the worst!!! Please, please, please slow down and don't overthink everything. Just try to enjoy that sweet little boy of yours. You have been in my thoughts and prayers so much the past week as only a mom who's been through it can understand. Give Gabriel a big ol' hug from Lily and me! God bless!
