in Recovery

When you have a child having out patient surgery at Devos Children's Hospital you get called back as soon as your child is starting to wake up, not once they are in recovery.

Dr. Piipo came out after surgery and said that surgery went well.  And that Gabriel would be waking up shortly and we would be called back.

When we got called back we could hear children crying and one child being particularly fussy.  Sure enough little Gabriel and a nurse were in a wrestling match, he was giving her quite the fight.  Come to find out we are to try to stop him from scratching his eyes for 12 hours.  They had to give him an extra dose of meds to calm him down.  Poor little man gave quite a fight.  It took over 20 minutes for him to calm down and eventually fall asleep even after an extra dose of meds.

We just got to the recovery room.  Gabriel isn't really opening his eyes at this point.  But from what we have seen they are very read at the inner corners.  He is crying blood and that is to be expected, i must say it kind of weirds me out.
