snow day 2

I received a text from a good friend last night around 9pm congratulating me on a second snow day.  I thought there would be no possible way we would have a second snow day.  The school system I teach in very rarely cancels school.   I checked a website for a local news station and our school was not on there.  I then decided to check my work email and sure enough we got another day off.  The snowplows were so busy cleaning the main roads in the big cities that they were unable to get to any of the side streets.  The whole county had a second snow day due to this issue.

I got to have a snow day for my birthday!!! I found out today that Elmo and I share a birthday, Gabriel is extremely excited about this fact!

The kids and I had a birthday PJ party today!

Snow Storm

The storm came! Being a teacher we learned to never expect to really get the storms that are predicted here in Michigan.  Typically the meteorologists will say a storm is on the way and then nothing comes.   This time their predictions came true!  I got to stay home with the kids today!  Sadly, Gabe had to drive in the whiteout conditions to work last night.  The way home was worrisome as well due to drifting and way below freezing temperatures.

What did Gabriel do on his first official snow day?

Party, just like all of the other kids though out Michigan!




Daddy even took gabriel into the street for fun because there was almost no traffic on our typically busy street.




 What was Isabella doing during all of this fun?

EATING of course!

She was not interested in getting all of her outside gear on today! Food was WAY more important!

Boy, I sure hope this storm gets here soon. Mom is going to make us go to bed before it ever gets here.

Yes, Isabella is in dinosaurs... she has gown so fast that she is in 18 month pj's. That happens to be the size I am currently taking out of her brothers closet. I put pigtails in to make it all better. Do you think it worked?
